An engineer from Crestchic, world leader in specialised loadbank manufacturing and testing solutions, has scooped a prestigious sector training and development award. Dan Woodward, won the prestigious Training and Personal Development award at this year’s Association of Manufacturers and suppliers of Power generating Systems (AMPS) awards evening held at the London Hilton, Park Lane.
AMPS is the trade association and industry voice for the UK’s world-leading diesel and gas-engine power generating sector. Following on from the Energy4Power 2015 conference, the evening recognised the special achievements made by individuals and companies in specific awards categories with winners selected by AMPS members.
This year, a new category was introduced, the Keith Marshall Training and Personal development award, in memory of the former AMPS chairman. This was to be awarded to any member who demonstrated outstanding commitment and achievement through the undertaking of extra training to advance their career as well as gaining knowledge and experience for their own personal development. After a rigorous selection process Dan Woodward was chosen as the winner.
Dan commented: “I’m very proud to have been honoured in this way, it is great to be independently recognised by my peers. I couldn’t believe I had been shortlisted so to actually win the award is amazing achievement for me.”
Chris Caldwell, European Rental Director of Crestchic added: “Dan joined us about 12 months ago, and although already a qualified electrical engineer, he had limited experience in the power sector. Since he joined us, he has attended the T1 and T3 MV Training courses at the Faraday Centre in Teesside, as well as HOTA (offshore training). Dan’s attitude has been a breath of fresh air, and our customers have been quick to praise him when he has visited their sites. Keith Marshall was a passionate advocate of the need of AMPS members to encourage new blood to join our industry. I have no doubt that he would have been more than pleased to see the rapid steps that Dan has made since he joined us. Dan will now be enrolled onto the AMPS training course which Keith pioneered.”
